Have you ever felt so tired even after getting the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep? Well, I know I do. I go to bed every night at the same time and wake up at the same time. However, I’m still tired! I’m going to not only tell you a few tricks to a better nights sleep, but I’m going to tell you about my favorite essential oil that makes all the difference. Now you may not think of essential oils when you think of sleep, but there are a few essential oils that can help relax your body and ease you into a better sleep.Get Better Sleep

How can I get better sleep?

  1. Turn Your TV OFF
  2. Turn on White Noise
  3. Add some Essential Oil to a Diffuser

Do you have a TV in your bedroom? Do you keep it on at night? Well for 80% of American’s this is the case. They will dose off watching TV after a long day at work, which is fine. Here is how it’s affecting your sleep though! When you drift off while watching TV your brain is still active and going. The recommended option is to turn your TV off about 15 minutes before you go to bed. These does two things for you, it slows down your brain and turns off the blue screen. You don’t realize it, but the vibrant blue screen that’s left behind can be disrupting your sleep and keeping you from going into the deep sleep you want.

Cancel out the noise! Stop playing the radio, leaving the TV on, or subjecting yourself to outside noise. The biggest reason you don’t feel well rested is because you’re not! You aren’t able to go into a deep sleep at night because you are interrupted. The best trick is to cancel out bad noise with good noise.

What you need are objects that create White noise:

  • Download an app that creates White Noise
  • Fans
  • Air Conditioner
  • Air Purifiers

Essential Oil

This section has to be my favorite. Add some Essential Oils to a Diffuser! Lavender is a great Essential oil for sleep! My personal favorite Essential oil to add to my diffuser, is Lavender.   1. Lavender
  2. Lemon
  3. Ylang Ylang
  4. Clary Sage
  5. Jasmine
  6. Bergamot

Just put a few drops in your diffuser and set it to go for the night and you’ll be sound asleep. Aromatherapy has been used for over 5,000 years to calm and relax as well as heal.
