DIY Wool Dryer Balls
You’re wasting your money on fabric softener and your time with the dryer time. How would you like to save money? Did I catch your attention yet? Good, today I want to talk about laundry. Every time you go to do laundry you are putting in fabric softener to make your clothes soft. Well, would you believe me if I said you’d never have to use it again? I’m going to show you how to make DIY Wool Dryer balls that you can add to your dryer to eliminate fabric softener and cut your drying time in half. When you use dryer balls they tumble around in your dryer separating the clothes and allowing air to circulate drying them quicker. After reading the article on One Good Thing by Jillee, I had to try it for myself.
What You’ll Need:
One skein of 100% WOOL yarn
Essential Oil of your choice ( I suggest Lavender) Click Here to Browse Essential Oils.
What to do:
Start out by taking your skein of wool and wrapping it around your fingers. You are going to do this until you have what starts to look like a ball. You can knot in the middle if you’d like, but you’ll continue to wrap the wool around the small ball until you get a larger ball. Out of one skein I was able to make 4 balls.
Keep wrapping the wool into a ball until you get a ball about the size of your fist.
Once you are finally done putting the yarn into a ball, you’ll want to take a pantyhose and wrap each individual ball. Once you are done putting them into a pantyhose cover, place them into the washing machine for one or two cycles. This will solidify the bond of your wool ball.
How to Use Them:
And there you have it, your DIY Wool Dryer Ball. Next time you do laundry put your clothes in the dryer. Take out your dryer ball and add a few drops of essential oils (affiliate link) and throw the ball into the dryer. Let them do all the work as they soften your clothes and leave them smelling great.
